GPS Tool allows you upload and download waypoints from a GPS unit.
Garmin and Magellen GPS units are the current supported formats.
You must have the latest Map Academy 3.1 installed on your computer
before this GPS Tool will work.
Waypoints are the only supported transfer method at this time. We will
release in the future support for transferring routes.
If you do not have the latest Map Academy 3.1 installed on your system,
run the setup.exe install from the CD.
Map Academy GPS Tool 1.0 is a separate program that opens and allows

************Important GPS Setup Information*********************
In order to transfer waypoints from your GPS unit into Map Academy
and have the coordinates as accurate as possible, check the following:
1- Make sure your GPS unit is in the NAD 27 datum for North America
2- Make sure the latitude and Longitude coordinates are in the following
format: degrees, minutes, seconds
These adjustments can be easily made in the GPS unit setup or preference
area (refer to your GPS unit manual for help)
Most GPS units come default in the WGS 84 datum and use the
degrees, minutes decimal format for Latitude and Longitude. Making
these adjustments will assure the accuracy of the coordinates and
display them correctly on the map.
