1. Click on file and save to hard drive.

2. Once Downloaded, close all programs and then double click on file.  Winzip will open.  Click the Install button within Winzip to start the install.

Note: The update file is a .zip file and requires Winzip to unzip and open the file.  If you have Winzip already installed on your computer, the Winzip program will automatically open up the file ready for you to install. If you do not have Winzip installed on your computer, you can download a free 21 day evaluation from our web site.

3. Follow prompts during install (computer may need to be restarted) Install completed Successfully.

4. Go to Start and Programs and choose Map Academy 3.1.

5. Map Academy will open along with a Translate Collection Window for Version 3.1.

6. A list of all installed state collections will appear with a blank check box.   Check off the state collections you want updated to 3.1.

7. Click on the Translate Button.  Update of database collections will take place.

Note: during the translation of the waypoint database, the install may prompt for one or more of the Map Academy CD's to be inserted in the CD ROM drive.  This is necessary so the update can maintain all saved waypoints that you may have already in the database.

8. Updating Map Academy is complete.  Click on the Close Button to close Translation Window.

9. Go up to the File Menu Pulldown and choose Open Maps. Select a state collection (i.e. Utah Platinum).

10. Once a topo map is open, you can activate the High Resolution Viewer by clicking on the Hi-Res button at the top right of the window next to the Help button.

Note: Do not Uninstall Map Academy 3.0
